South Geauga Theology University, Inc. ("SGTU," "we," "us," or "our") operates the website at southgeauga.com and the student learning portal. Our principal place of business is located at 1901 E Silversprings Blvd, 1020, Ocala, FL 34470.

  • Application data: Name, email address, phone number, mailing address, date of birth, and academic history submitted via our enrollment application form.
  • Account data: Email address and name provided when creating a student account via Clerk authentication.
  • Payment data: Payment is processed securely by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers. We retain Stripe customer IDs and subscription identifiers.
  • Usage data: Course progress, quiz scores, lesson completion, and PDF download activity within the student portal.
  • Communications: Messages sent via our contact form, including name, email, and message content.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: Email address submitted via our newsletter form.

3. How We Use Your Information

  • To process and evaluate your enrollment application.
  • To communicate admissions decisions and send payment links upon approval.
  • To provide access to coursework and track your academic progress.
  • To process tuition payments and manage billing.
  • To send transactional emails (enrollment confirmations, module completion congratulations, certificate issuance).
  • To respond to your inquiries and support requests.
  • To send newsletters and program updates (where you have subscribed).
  • To comply with legal obligations, including Florida CIE requirements.

4. Sharing of Information

We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information to third parties. We share your information only with:

  • Clerk: Authentication and account management.
  • Stripe: Payment processing. Subject to Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • Resend: Transactional and notification email delivery.
  • Supabase / PostgreSQL: Secure cloud database storage.
  • Legal authorities: When required by law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SGTU, our students, or others.

5. Data Retention

We retain your personal information for as long as your student account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce agreements. Application data for rejected applicants is retained for 12 months.

6. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights including:

  • Access to the personal data we hold about you.
  • Correction of inaccurate or incomplete data.
  • Deletion of your personal data (subject to legal retention requirements).
  • Opt-out from newsletter communications at any time by contacting us.

We use industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, secure cloud infrastructure, and access controls to protect your information. However, no method of electronic transmission is 100% secure.

Our services are intended for adults 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information to us, please contact us immediately.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify enrolled students of material changes by email. Continued use of our services after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
