Policy Statement:
South Geauga Theology University (SGTU) offers financial aid options to accepted and enrolled students to alleviate financial barriers hindering access to education. This policy should be read alongside the University’s Payments Policy.

University Fees and Financial Aid Options:
SGTU, a tuition-free non-profit institution, requires applicants and students to pay modest application and assessment fees to cover the cost of educational services.

  1. Application Processing Fee:
    The University’s Application Processing Fee is $50 USD.

Applicants facing financial hardship or unable to pay via provided methods may request a grant from the University. Eligibility may involve providing additional information such as educational history and refugee status.

  1. Assessment Fees:

Students do not currently have to pay an assessment fee

Scholarship Guidelines:

SGTU offers three scholarship options:

Dedicated Scholarships
SGTU Scholarship Fund
Special Scholarships
Eligible individuals must first complete their application and be accepted to SGTU. Currently enrolled students may also apply.

Application Process:
Prospective students indicate their need for financial assistance during the application process. Enrolled students can contact the Financial Aid Office or their Program Advisor for assistance.

Scholarship Review:
The Financial Aid Office reviews scholarship requests. The Scholarship Committee convenes at least once per term to process applications uniformly.

Scholarship Terms:

Partial or full scholarships may be granted.
More than one scholarship may be awarded to an individual.
Scholarship funds are applicable for the next available term.
Students re-enrolling within two terms of withdrawal may reactivate their scholarship.
Withdrawal or Dismissal:
Students withdrawing or dismissed from the University forfeit their scholarship, with no obligation from SGTU to reserve funds.
